My teaching approach adopts the communicative approach and utilizes the 4 skills model to focus on reading, writing, speaking and listening and is student-cente red with interaction with students and developing linguistic proficiency as the principle goal. In addition to emphasizing mechanical and grammatical mastery, I focus on aiding students in developing the cultural competency skills necessary to truly immerse themselves in the culture of the language. My lessons are unique in that they are rooted in my experience as both a trained linguist and also a world traveller thanks to my time spent abroad as a teacher in Russia and Kazakhstan.
