Unlike a lot of teachers of dead languages, I like to emphasize conversation and active use. Besides being much more fun than just reading texts, all evidence points to conversation being the best way to learn a language. Generally speaking, I like to spend 1/3 of the class in conversation, 1/3 in introducing and practicing grammar, and 1/3 in reading texts. No matter how much we're covering in a day--and expect to do a lot of work!--the mood is always fun. Many students have told me they look forward to my class after a long day at work or their usual school, and I know I always have a great time. So if you want actually want to learn a dead a language and have fun doing it, send me a message! |

What do you remember from your childhood? Do you remember the boring, mundane moments or the funny ones that stuck out to you? Of course you remember funny events more! That is where my lessons are unique: I make them fun and interactive! Rather than memorizing a boring list of words or phrases you will forget in a day, I teach through games, memes, and other ways. Even though it is not the "traditional" sense of teaching, it does help you actually learn and remember by forming neurological pathways in your brain. Basically: once you make a connection with something, you will forever remember it. That is what I bring in my lessons. We learn through practical games, storytelling, and talking. |

My goal is to encourage natural acquisition and expression of the English language through genuine and meaningful interaction with my students. It is important that as an instructor, I maintain a facilitative role to ensure that students guide their own learning while understanding how they can apply learning material to situations they would encounter in their everyday lives. I believe that a flexible teaching approach that is the most beneficial to my students’ skill levels, learning styles, and individual personalities is what allows them to thrive the most.
Lear ning another language is not an easy task and takes a lot of dedication; however, it doesn’t have to be boring. The best environment to learn in is one where you don’t feel overwhelmed or burdened. It’s important for you to enjoy and show some personal connection to what you are learning. I want you to have a say in your learning journey. Let’s build lessons that fit you! |
