I leverage on the various 21st-century skills and teaching methodologies in teaching my foreign students. These strategies have proven to be effective over the years.
First, I am well-grounded in the use of technology. I can operate any digital application with ease. This is the very reason I excelled in my teaching career during the online teaching and learning activities during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
As stated earlier, I am a certified TEFL facilitator. Having undergone Teaching of English as a Foreign Language programme, I have the adequate knowledge and skills to teach foreign students. Though it is an English Language programme, the knowledge and skills acquired in the programme can be used to teach Igbo Language. My approach to teaching Portuguese as a foreign language is, in essence, making the experience an enjoyable one for students. This involves a focus, not only on grammar, but on how language connects to every aspect of life. In my course, students get to experience the world we see as a construct of language and therefore perceive the world with fresh eyes. Music, art, literature, pedestrian life, news, etc are all a feature of my classes.
