I'm a beginner. I want to learn Hungarian so I can learn more about my father, who was born and grew up there. I especially want to be able to go into the archives, learn about him and his family, and read about what life was like for him, but I also want to be able t5o converse in Hungarian.
I hope travel to Hungary this summer for two weeks, and I would like to take intensive language classes during that time.
After I retire from my job jext year at age 65, I would like to devote my full time to this endeavor.

Hello , I am placing this ad because I wish to continue my studies in the Chinese language. I would like to learn both mandarin and cantonese but, mandarin first. I have already studied it some and feel that I am not a beginner but I am not quite intermediate. I wish to learn chinese for personal gratification , and possibly in the future, career advancement. I need improvement in all areas including grammar, conversation, and character writing. 2 to 3 days a week is the amount of time I would like to spend on lessons.
The only quality I wish for my teacher to have is that they are fluent or near fluent in both chinese and english.

Croatian was my first language as a child, but growing up in the U.S., it is not so much that I have forgotten Croatian, rather I'm not sure I ever knew proper grammar. It is important to me that I get a handle on the grammar from the basics, since with merely speaking it, I have not rules and continue to make the same mistakes over and over.
I want to correct my grammar in speaking because we speak only Croatian to our one-year-old daughter, and plan to do so with new other baby on the way. Even though she hears correct Croatian from my husband, who has only been in the U.S. for 10 years, I think it is important the children hear it correctly from their mother, as well. Besides, I often can hear that I'm saying something incorrectly, but don't know how to fix it -- very frustrating.
I don't know how much time I can dedicate to language lessons - probably just a a few hours a week - due to working full time and having a small child, soon to be more than one.
The only qualities I am looking for in a teacher is patience in explaining fundamental grammar to me from the very basics onward.
