I am a beginning student of Catalan. I have several books, computer programs and language tapes but have found that I am not getting very far.
I have been to Barcelona and would like to go back again speaking the language fluently.
This winter I am planning to spend two weeks in rural Catalunya as part of a farming exchange program (WWOOF.org) to help with the olive harvest and have my first real experience trying to speak Catalan.
I could spend two hours a week on lessons until November. After November, I could spend as many hours as necessary.
I am looking for a teacher with a sense of humor who can expertly explain grammar to someone who may not understand the technical nuances right away.
I will need to take lessons primarily via email with telephone conversations to help develop accentuation and pronounciatio n.
I am willing to pay a reasonable price for lessons and would like to plan to take lessons for at least 1 year.

-We ll, my whole family is greek. They all speak it even my brother and sister. I didnt get sent to greek school and i guess they all just expected me to learn. Im 19 and i want to learn greek because i love being greek and its a great language to learn.

I would like a tutor who can teach my two daughters along with myself. My children are 7 & 9 yrs. old. We have family members who can speak French. We would like to be able to converse with them in French, and be able to pronounce the written word. We hope to travel to France in 2007. We have have no formal learning at this point. We are beginners. I am looking for about 1 hour per week or every other week, in person, along with some type of lessons I can work with the girls away from the tutor. I am also looking for recommendatio ns, from the tutor, of ways to increase our proficiency such as recommended readings, DVD's, music, etc. Thank you for your consideration .
