I've learned most of the alphabet, just not all at once. Every time I look at a word, I can identify each character but it's a slow & mentally painful process.
I'm going over long and short vowels recently, and while that's easy I don't remember what counts as long or short. I don't think of these things as I'm speaking English.
I start class in a couple of months and have no syllabus or course work to follow. I'm not doing much before then and I'd like whatever help you could give before then. But I do know I'll be taught a formal Persian that no one actually speaks.

I have previously learned Farsi as part of a job requirement and can speak at an intermediate level (1+).
I am looking for a teacher that can work with me for 3-4 hours a day for a few weeks so I can re-certify in my control language.
I need my teacher to be able to gloss over all the beginner level lessons because I wont have a lot of time to refresh before I will be required to test out, and all the beginner-leve l stuff I already know and will come back to me as we are going over the more advanced lessons - like, if I say 'I'm good' she needs to have the flexibility to move on to something else.
Also I prefer female teachers that are close to my age as it makes the whole experience less awkward, and its easier for me to learn from someone who I can relate to generationall y.
For the learning environment, I can video chat from home, that is the best and easiest way for us to conduct the lessons, that way no one is restricted by a physical classroom setting, yet we can still have basically face-to-face interactions.

I would like to learn Persian Farsi and Dari because I think it is a beautiful language and I am interested in Iranian culture and history. I am an absolute beginner at the language. I have attempted self-study, but it is very difficult without someone to help guide and teach me. I know a few letters of the alphabet, but not all of them, so I struggle to read. I only know a few words and phrases right now, and my biggest issue is trying to remember vocabulary. I would like to dedicate time on the weekends, and a few evenings a week to learn.
I would like a teacher who is patient but stern. If I am not pronouncing the words correctly, I would like the teacher to correct me until I can pronounce words as they should be. I also love creativity when it comes to lessons, it helps me remember more.
