Hajimemashite!
I am a beginner with little conversationa l skills. I almost have passed 3-kyu JLPT test a few years ago but have since forgotten many things. I lived in Kansai for 4 years and taught English in public schools. Most of my Japanese was learned by talking with the kids. I also taught English privately and worked very hard to make my students improve and enjoy my lessons.
I want to be able to pass 2-kyu JLPT and eventually 1-kyu. I have many friends in Japan and will go back to visit or work again soon.
I would like to have a lesson every week.
I have the text book 'Genki' with teacher's guide and would like to use it. Of course, teacher provided materials are also great!

I have taken a couple college courses, and am learning the language because I will be studying and working in Ecuador this school year, as well as specializing on Latin America for my degree in Political Science and International Development. I need a deep grasp on grammar and conversation at the moment, especially the listening comprehension and confidence in speaking with regards to these conversations . I think that 2-4 hours per week will be sufficient, so long as I work independently as well. I would like a patient, but well focused teacher that provides a well-rounded and proactive lesson. I work best when I am in an encouraging environment, but I also want it to challenge me.
