I would like to learn French so that I can advance within the Federal Government. I currently hold a position within the government but would like to better myself. My ultimate goal would be to get my levels and be able to apply for jobs in Ottawa and Gatineau.
I did take French immersion all throughout grade school but have not used it since then. My grammar is very poor. I can understand someone talking to me in French or reading in French but when it’s my turn to keep the conversation going I'm, quite often, at a loss for words. I've lost a lot of the vocabulary. I would say I'm probably between beginner and intermediate.
I would very much like to get my levels as soon as possible so I'm will to put in the time required to do so. I'm currently very busy with work and sports but starting October my nights and weekends will be free.
I'm a hands on learner and would like someone who can teach me in person. I seem to learn best with examples as well as with someone who is enthusiastic and excited about teaching the subject.

I am learning spanish because I will be moving to Mexico and would like to be able to work. I have a good base of spanish, I can understand a good amount but cannot speak it very well. I am looking to do 1-2 sessions a week maybe more depending because I will be leaving for mexico in january or february. I visited Shanghai for 2 weeks and have been practicing Chinese mandarin for a while.
I am very interested in learning.
I believe I am very good at reading pinyin, but I do not know how to form sentences.

I need to learn mandarin for career advancement because I am working in an tour company where the majority speaks mandarin. I also receive numerous mandarin speaker calls where I have no idea what they're saying and would need to transfer their calls. My proficiency level is beginner and I would like to learn mandarin as quick as possible. The qualities I am looking for in my lessons is to translate mandarin to cantonese and not english, but the problem is that I don't read chinese. I would also like my teacher to teach me dialects that is related to my job. I live in stouffville so I am looking for a teacher that can travel up to my place.
