Hello, I have previously studied Mandarin Chinese at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey California. I would like to brush up on my skills and become proficient enough to speak fluently. I have the basics of the language down, but I need help with speaking, reading/writi ng, and listening. I would like to be able to meet with someone about once a week to enhance my self-study regime. I would like a teacher who is fluent, preferably native, and can help me learn to speak & read proficiently in a business/gove rnment level.

I am interested in learing to speak (not write) Farsi. My girlfriend was born in Iran and speaks fluently and I am interested in learing to have the ability to converse with her and her family in their native language and also to keep my mind active.
I am a beginner. NOTE: Before taking any class whether online or in-person, I am wanting to know whether a Farsi teacher could recommend a book that I could review before instruction - to learn rote memory vocablulary and to get an idea where things were going. I feel that I learn better that way if I have possession of a lot of the vocabluary that can be done through memorization.
I have a full time 50+ hour job. I an open to suggestion about how much time needs to be spent per week to effectively learn.
I am interested in a teacher that would be patient, perhaps willing to teach in a group setting, and that could also teach about the Iranian culture as well.

I am learning Slovak because I have family who live in Slovakia. I have been learning French and Arabic because I also have family who live in Morocco. I like to visit and keep in touch with everyone. I can read childrens books in Slovak with a dictionary. I understand verb conjugation and basic grammar. I understand and can use the nominative, accusative and instrumental declensions. I still have trouble with the dative, genative and locative (easy to confuse prepositions) . I understand the future tense, but have difficulty knowing how to form the correct verb pair (u, vy, roz, etc). I can read Teen and adult French books without a dictionary. I watch TV5 America and can easily understand most programming when people are speaking clearly with little to no slang. I have trouble speaking on my own because I do not do it often enough. I would like help with conversationa l Slovak and French for perhaps 2 hours per week.
