I am very interested in learning Vietnamese. My wife is Vietnamese and she has taught me some. However, I am away on business for 6 months and would like to really dedicate my learning. Plus, I would like to surprise her on how much I learn. I was thinking if I could spend 30 to 45 minutes a day for Monday through Friday or Monday, Wednesday, Friday would be idea.
I am very analytical person, so I really like to ask the why questions. Why is it pronounced this way or that. I find myself getting confused when I learn, because I am sure I don't practice enough.
An yways, if someone could teach me that would be great. However, I am a slow learner and probably will ask a lot of questions.

I am beginner starting to learn Russian. I am able to spend 3 to 5 hours a week in a classroom an 10 hours outside the classroom. I am learning because while in the Ukraine I meet a interpreter and realized how nice it would be to speak to her in her own language.

I want to learn so I am able to study and read old persian poetry. I also want be able to communicate with friends who speak persian. I am a beginner. I need improvement in grammar and conversation, in all areas. I have a strong desire to learn because of my love of the language and poetry. I am committed to becoming fluent in this language. I lead an NGO in Ethiopia, and travel there several times per year. (I have spent 10 weeks in Ethiopia so far this year, for example.) My goal is to move to Ethiopia. It's time I learn to truly speak the language!
I will dedicate as much time as necessary to learn Amharic.
I would like individual lessons, with some opportunities to 'practice' with other Amharic speakers, or a small group classroom setting.
