I am a beginner in Russian - I have been teaching msyelf cyrillic and basic vocab but would like to start from scratch with a teacher.
I have wanted to learn for a long time - I studied Russian history, love the literature and hope to get the chance to live there one day. It would also help me in my career, particulalrly if I apply for jobs in Russia.
I would like to spend 2 hours a week or so in classes - mostly evenings. Unfortunately my job is very unpredictable so a teacher would have to be flexible, as I may have to change times at short notice. I would like to mix group and one-on-one classes if possible, to get practice speaking the language.
I would hope to have a teacher who will be rigorous with me, and creative in lesson planning. I want to work on reading and writing as well as conversationa l Russian and getting a good grasp of the grammar will be vital. I don't just want to learn phrasebook Russian.

Complete beginner, but have already learned spanish, so I feel as though I somewhat understand how to learn foreign languages. I hope to work/travel in the balkans region and hope to begin with serbian, croatian, or russian. I would be able to dedicate perhaps three-four hours per week. I would like to work with someone in person and have them first explain the general grammer and voacabulary, then simply speak and read to me in that language. thank you.

I'm an MA student in Ottawa looking for a private Russian tutor for 5-10 hrs a week. I have a very basic knowledge of Russian: I can introduce myself, ask where somethign is, etc.

My proficiency level is beginner. I have basic understanding of the alphabet and pronunciation of most letters and words, though I am still a bit slow. The reason I have for wanting to learn Russian is I plan to vacation in St. Petersburg near the end of October this year. I would like to spend possibly a few nights a week with a private tutor, going over common conversation, phrases, and expressions. I am not particular whether the teacher is male or female, though I would like someone somewhat close in age with myself(30 years old). However, they need not be exactly that age.
