Searching for private Turkish lessons.
A little about me... I'm 26, have lived in Chicago for the past 3 years and work in advertising (living in Lakeview and working in the West Loop). I've travelled to Turkey twice in the past year to visit with friends, however I know only about 10 words, so communicating in something other than English has been impossible. Because I intend to go back many more times in the future, I thought I might as well give learning the language a chance.
Hi storically, I have a pretty hard time learning languages. I studied Latin for 4 1/2 years between High School and College and remember next to nothing. I studied German for about 2 years and know enough to get around, but not to have in depth conversations or anything like that. Usually language programs go too fast for me... I consider myself pretty intelligent, but something about languages... it's like oil and water.
Any way, if you are looking to take students for private lessons this autumn please reply with any info about your teaching style, location, rates and a little about yourself.

I wish to learn turkish because i have recently moved to antalya and intent to stay here permanently. It is very importantant for me to learn the language so that i can enjoy life here and make friends with the people here and to become part of a community here.
My knowledge of the language at present is very limited so you could class me as a total beginner . . .but one who is very willing to learn but just needs someone with patience to help me along the way.
I would be quite happy to join a small class or private classes . . .depending on the cost.
As i am now living here time is not a big issue . . .only that i would like to make progress quite quickly to make life easier for me.
I am not working . . and therefore am free most days to start lessons as soon as possible.
