I am an absolute beginner. I'm learning this language bacause I am interested in working in a german speaking country. I've been trying to learn german by reading dictionaries but I have just managed to learn a few words; I need improvement on grammar and how to converse with it. I will be working an internship in Germany beginning in May, 2009. Although it is not a requirement of my position, I would like to arrive with some basic knowledge of the the native language.
For all practical purposes I have no experience with German.
I will be returning to Edmonton for the period from January to April, 2009. I am looking for language lessons to complement by usual studies at the University of Alberta.
I n the short term I am interested in getting a grasp of the spoken language. I hope this will give me a good starting place when I arrive in Germany and begin a more formal language course.

As I have lived in mexico for couple of years, I have some basic understanding of spoken spanish(Mexic an Spanish).
I can understand or guess the meening of the sentence by single known word in the sentence some times.
I would like to learn spanish so that I will have proficiency in Reading, Writting and Speaking the language without (both street and office language)
As of now I can speak, read and write with very basic proficiency.
