I am looking for a part-time tutor to teach me how to write and speak tagalog. I am a 25-year old University graduate living and working in the city of Derby. Although I am British, both my parents are Filipino and so I already have some basic knowledge of the language. I am looking for an individual programme tailored to my needs so that I can learn the basics but also develop my speaking skills. Ideally I am looking for weekly/fortni ghtly lessons depending on tuition rates. I would prefer to learn from a Filipino with a good standard of written and spoken English.

I am looking to learn tagalog so that i may use it confidently and to be able to understand and converse with native users. i will be travelling to manilla in 2011.
I am looking or a teacher that will be able to give a good learning structure suited to my ability that they feel, also im hoping to learn fluently best i can so teaching how you would a native child i feel would help so coursework to promote this may help.
video calls and emailing is the best method for me, thus the teacher can help my pronounciatio n and i can gain confidence as we build up.

I have spent a few months in the Philippines for work, and have learnt a few words and phrases occasionally. Now I'm looking to advance my skills to a basic conversationa l level, as I will be back to the Philippines again soon.
I'm currently at a beginner's level with approximately 200 words and a dozen phrases. I would like to take up individual lessons on a regular basis (2 times a week) in order to become more at ease primarily with speaking the language in a private setting.
