Greetings,
I am hoping to learn one of these languages, each for a reason of their own.
I want to learn thai because l am, in fact, thai, however l have been living australia from when l was the age of 3, so l missed out on learning the language of my heritage. I visit Thailand every few years, yet find it frustrating that l can only understand the basics, but not speak, read or write it.
I wish to learn japanese because their culture has really interested me from when l was young, and l want to learn their language.
An other reason that l want to learn one of these languages is because this year, and for the next few years, l am trying to complete a Duke of Edinburgh course which requires me to choose a skill task to learn for at least 3 months, 1 hour per week.
I believe l am a fast and diligent learner and will put my best effort into lessons.
T he qualities l am looking for in my lessons and in my teacher is to be able to speak fluently in conversations in the foreign language, to have patience, and to hopefully be able to explain in an easy and understandabl e way. I hope that each lesson will teach me something new and important, so l would be able to use it in later life.

Hello. My name is Jessica Loera and I'm very interested in advancing in the little Japanese I've learned. I've been self teaching myself on and off for 10 odd years and I took two semesters of Japanese 1A in two different schools mostly because I felt I didn't learn it well the first time around.
I' m very willing to learn though. I think I benefit more by having some teach me rather than self learning as I get distracted a bit easily and having someone tell me they want the homework in by a certain time gives me more motivation.
I'm very positive that my greatest weak point is grammer as I tend to not understand the Japanese grammer even when I'm told that it's simple. I keep mixing 'ga' and 'wa' particles and 'ni' and 'de' also.
The main reason I want to learn Japanese is because I love the language and I hope to live in Japan one day and I want to be able to communicate with everyone. I want any type of job that requires Japanese like a translator or teacher of ESL.
And the amount I want to dedicate is as much as is possible during the day. I'm available at almost any time and I love studying if I get really excited and find out by an external source/person that I'm improving.
If you become my teacher, fluent knowledge of Japanese is what I'm hoping for though if you aren't completely fluent then we can at least practice together as you teach me. Maybe we can even become friends!

I will be going to Japan in June for 3 months.
I would like to learn who to communicate in Japanese, so i can get around Tokyo withou problems.
I have been trying to learn on my own for the past 4 months, by watching a lot of Japanese Tv Shows (dorama) and talk shows.
I know a lot of words, i just don't know how to put them together to creat sentenses.
I would like to start learning as soon as possible, so i can be ready for June 2008.
