I am a PhD in ethnomusicolo gy studying music of eastern Africa, and I am looking to continue my study of Kiswahili for my research. I have completed two years of formal language study. I live now in Kenya, retired from the U.S Air Force. I at one time had been going to a school, In Mombasa. But it was an election And the country fell into chaos. Since then I had not returned or put in a serious effort. It is my intention to apply for citizenship, the only requirement that I do not meet s the ability to speak Swahili. Though I have been in this country since 2005, I would say that I am still a beginner. My particular interest. is in acquiring the ability to have a conversation.
