I wish to learn dutch as i spend most of my time off in Holland with family and friend, I have been doing so for the past 3 years and wish to be able to properly interact with friends and join in on conversation.
I am a beginner or maybe novice as i know some of the basics and understand very little, I particularly want to learn conversation as grammar wont be of great importance to me.
I work offshore and will be away for the next 5 weeks, and then would like to do at least 2 lessons a week of approximately 2 hrs each for as long as im back in town which is unknown at the moment.
I would probably need a teacher with a bit of patience.

I moved to Belgium 1.5 years ago to live with my Belgian partner. We have a blended family and all children attend Flemish school. I have been studying Dutch during this time with varioius institutions such as Linguapolis, Ivoran and tutoring. I continue to have problems with my confidence in speaking as well as grammer issues. I have taken the Huis van het Nederlands exam and scored a B1 level. I would really like to become functionally fluent in Dutch. I have found that the Linguapolis method didn't focus enough on speaking and the Ivoran course was too slow and covered material that was of little importance to me. I really need someone with a new approach that can keep me interested and feeling like I am progressing.

Hi,
My name is Niki Fayaz, and I reside in the Netherlands, yet am currently in Toronto for a short while. I will be heading back to Holland soon for work (in a few weeks to be exact), however in the mean time I want to refocus my attention on learning Dutch. I am currently at the Pre-intermedi ate (B1) level in Dutch. However it had been some months since my last formal exposure to the language. I completed my Dutch language courses at the University of Amsterdam, and was taught by professors of Dutch. I have an academic background myself, in linguistics amongst other fields, and speak three other languages fluently. I realize that Dutch is not a simple language and because of my technical background I am quite easily able to pinpoint my areas of difficulty, and work on them myself. However if I can find a good teacher who offers classes at a reasonable fee,
I would rather utilize their expertise in helping to improve my Dutch.
