I am interested in learning the Japanese language. My partner and I are planning to visit Japan in 2011 and would like to be able to hold basic conversations while we are there. I am looking for Japanese lessons for both my husband and I. My husband is half Japanese and it was his first language but he has since forgotten how to speak it.
We are planning a trip to Japan in April and I know it would mean a lot to him if he could have a better understanding of the language. I would also like to at least know some basics so that I can speak to and understand his family.
I would like to do lessons at least once a week but since the trip is so close perhaps twice a week would be better.

I have lived, studied, and worked in Japan for many years. My proficiency level in Japanese is advanced. I will be in Akita, Japan, for about a week in late May/early June 2010. I'm looking for a private tutor to work with me for ~2 hours each morning and 2 hours each afternoon. I would like to read from Yuki Guni by Kawabata Yasunari and Ningen no Jouken by Gomikawa Junpei.
Pl ease let me know if there is anyone in Akita, Japan, who could help me.
If you are aware of any private Japanese tutors in or near Princeton, New Jersey, please let me know about them too.
