I would like to learn Vietnamese because my fiance is Vietnamese. Of course he knows English but when we are with his family they speak in Vietnamese. I would like to be able to communicate with them as well.
They have taught me a few basic phrases but they don't know how to proceed from there. Plus, his parents are the only ones who know how to read and write the language since he was raised in the US. I have room for improvement in all areas.
I would dedicate at least an hour a day for lessons if not more. Some days would more than others.
I need a teacher who will be patient with me and be able to help me understand the language. I find I have a hard time knowing how to pronouce a word so if I'm able to see it while being told it helps me. I'm a visual learner and I like to associate words with other things to help me remember them.
