I have been studying Japanese for a year and completed the GENKI textbook 1 published by The Japan Times. I wish to learn more Japanese over the short Winter break, preferably using the GENKI book 2. I'll be in Japan for 10 days from 7th Jan to 17th Jan. I wish to learn as much as possible within this time frame.

Proficiency level: beginner
R eason: I am generally interested in Japanese culture. Also, I study jodo and iaido, and some of the high-ranking sensei who teach at seminars are visiting from Japan and speak no English.
N eed improvement in: primarily conversation, secondarily reading and writing.
T ime to dedicate: 1-2 hours per week. Sunday afternoons are best, since my dojo is in Baltimore (Catonsville) .
Qualities looking for: Does not have to be native speaker of Japanese, but does have to be expert educator. I would prefer to meet at a location in Baltimore.

Kon nichiwa,
W atashi wa Marc desu. I am learning Nihongo to increase aptitude and for career advancement. I want to speak with proficiency and be able to read Romanji. I plan on returning to Japan this year.
I am at a beginner level. I can read/write romanji at an intermediate level. Nihongo skoshi wakarimasu, skoshi haneshimasu. Mada jozu arimasen.
I can dedicate at least once per week, face to face.
I am looking for a challenging lesson, and situations where I am required to speak Nihongo. Currently I am watching a lot of Nihon TV, reading, conversing with others as much as possible.
