She had learned Chinese just for 1 year 7 months before.
Her first language is Korean, and she can speak English.
I want her to speak Chinese, too.

I am a beginner in Mandarin and have been interested in learning the language for years. I have travelled to Beijing and therefor have an immense crave for Chinese culture. The reasons for me wanting to learn Mandarin are not for career advancement (although I'm sure it would come in handy) but simply to better understand such a huge and historic culture that has a big prevelance in Vancouver. I know some basic terms and writing and every day try to learn a different word, but have a long way to go. I work nights at a restaurant and am available during most week days. I would like to have classes at least twice a week. More than 50% of my customers at my restaurant are Chinese and I would love to be able to make them more comfortable by speaking their native tongue. My goal is to, in one year from now, be able to hold a conversation comfortably with a Mandarin speaker.
