My husband and I are both beginners looking to learn Japanese for personal and business reasons. My husband's grandmother was from Japan and regaining part of his Japanese heritage is important him. I will be starting law school fall of 2007 and I would like to be somewhat proficient in Japanese by this time as specializatio n always sets one apart from others. My husband and I want to take lessons together. We know that if we learn together we will continue to speak to each other around the house and help each other practice :)

I`m a beginner in the Japanese language, and other than having watched a few movies(subtit led), cannot claim any familiarity with the language. I have always wanted to learn Japanese, and I see it as a career opportunity also - as interpretor, translator.
I would like to take evening classes, or morning classes, as I have a job that begins at 9 and will end at 6 in the evening.
In a teacher I would look for a very strong foundation and familiarity with the language on par with that of the native speakers.

i want a tutor that can teach me and my friend japanese. we are the beginner level and are looking to learn japanese so we can understand more of the stuff we watch/listen to like japanese shows or songs. We are looking for tutors who can teach in Edmonton, alberta at downtown or the noth side. we are looking for an easy going teacher who has flexible hours and is willing to negotiate payment. Classes have to be on staurdays after 9 am and before 6 pm.
we would like a teacher who can teach us both formal and casual/modern japanese (although leaning more to the casual). we are fast learners and don't mind work as long it's in a reasonable load. We hope to hear from you.
