I am only a beginner =]
I recently started to gain an interest in Japanese because I want to excell in another language. I believe this could be helpful in the future (also, I really want to visit Japan). I'm a uni student therefore I will probably only want to spend 1 or 2 days a week learning. I'd like to have a native Japanese person as a tutor, however that's not a necessity. I just want to have a good friendship with my tutor while learning the language =]

Hello,
My name is Ayanna, and I would like to further my understanding of Japanese. I have taken afew semesters of the language at college, so I know the basics. I would like to attain a level of conversation though, as well as learn more kanji. I have a somewhat difficult time with the normal conversationa l speed of Japanese, more so than actually understanding the words, but I would really like to increase my vocaulary as well.
At present, I try to teach myself and adjust my ear to conversation speed with DVDs and music. I think I require a patient teacher, as I am kind of shy. Once I become comfortable though, I try much harder to communicate.
I have Japanese friends, and when I go to Japan again I do not want to take a long time to respond their questions. These are the goals I hope my teacher and I can accomplish, and I promise I will be the best student I can be.
