I currently have no experience or knowledge of Mandarin and would like to develop some basic ability to use the language in preparation for a six month backpacking trip to China. I am free of responsibilit y for the entire month of August and would like to devote as much time as I possibly can to learn this language. I am hoping to find a teacher who is excited about spreading their knowledge and that has some time to share with a serious and enthusiastic student.

I am definitely a beginner but very interested in learning different languages. Experiences in past travels released the enthusiasm to learn the culture of other countries, and I think that the best way to start is to learn to speak their tongue.
I have a full time job but I can devote an hour or an hour and a half per session, three times a week preferably after office on weekdays(7pm onwards) and/or weekends.
I would prefer a female teacher (young or young at heart) who has a style of making the learning more interesting.

I am a beginner in both the languages I am willing to learn. I want to learn them to have more career opportunities and because of my interest in different cultures.
I would like to meet weekly the teacher. Probably once a week.
I am looking for someone who can also help me understanding the cultures in which those languages are spoken and, of course, to learn those languages as fast as possible.
