I am a beginning student of the Tagalog language, and am hoping to get in touch with a native speaker that can provide me with structured lessons, tutorials and feedback in order for me to become reasonably fluent in day-to-day conversation.
My partner is Filipino, and I'd like to be able to show my respect towards her parents and heritage by learning the language, and also to be able to converse during our visits to the Philippines.

I wish to learn tagalog so I can speak with my girlfriend in her language better and get to know her more. I am planning on going to the Philippines in January 2009. Specifically, I am going to Taguig City.
I only know of a couple phrases in tagalog, So I am a beginner.
I work at nights, so my day is open right now. I am also free all weekends. I am in the central Time Zone.
I am looking for a teacher who is knowledgeable and willing to work as hard as I do. I am random on what I understand. Sometimes I know it right away and other times it takes me awhile. From my experience with another language class, I know that I am better at writing then I am at speaking.

I am desperately seeking a serious, and talented teacher/tutor in Tagalog. You must devote MWF for two hours. I don't want nor appreciate any quick lessons, but a beginning from grade 1-12. My goal is to speak fluent Tagalog because you use your ability to educated me. I prefer hands-on teacher. I live in Berkeley, Ca. If you have the time and live in my area, please contact me.
