Would like to find a Mandarin teacher for my 2 kids, age 8 and 3. (Two boys.) Both kids are native English speakers with a big exposure to Mandarin Chinese from my husband's side of the family.
My 8 year old has good comprehension , is writing at about grade 2 level. His weakness is speaking. My 3 year old enjoys hearing stories in Chinese and watching cartoons in Chinese as well. He can count in Chinese. Both need help on speaking. Both don't hear it enough.
Ne ither child is in school until August, so it would be great to have lessons 2 or three times a week. We would prefer an hour each time for my older son, and maybe just 20 30 minutes with my younger son. Hopefully the teacher can come to our house in New Manila. After August, we'd like to do lessons maybe just once or twice a week after school for help with homework etc. as well. (They will be attending a Chinese school.
The teacher should be fun and comfortable with kids. My 2 are very easy and enthusiastic types, eager to learn types, but it would help if the teacher is playful and fun and creative too.

My children (both teenagers) have been living in China & studying Mandarin for the past 3 years. We are now returning to the UK & I (as Mum) would like them to continue on with their Mandarin studies working towards GCSE Mandarin in either June 2009 or 2010.

Hi,
I am moving to Cairo in July 2008. I have been living in China for the last 3 years. My Mandarin is of a low-intermedi ate level. I would like to have a Chinese tutor just for one hour a week to maintain this level, otherwise I may lose my language skills.
