I wish to learn tagalog so I can speak with my girlfriend in her language better and get to know her more. I am planning on going to the Philippines in January 2009. Specifically, I am going to Taguig City.
I only know of a couple phrases in tagalog, So I am a beginner.
I work at nights, so my day is open right now. I am also free all weekends. I am in the central Time Zone.
I am looking for a teacher who is knowledgeable and willing to work as hard as I do. I am random on what I understand. Sometimes I know it right away and other times it takes me awhile. From my experience with another language class, I know that I am better at writing then I am at speaking.

I am desperately seeking a serious, and talented teacher/tutor in Tagalog. You must devote MWF for two hours. I don't want nor appreciate any quick lessons, but a beginning from grade 1-12. My goal is to speak fluent Tagalog because you use your ability to educated me. I prefer hands-on teacher. I live in Berkeley, Ca. If you have the time and live in my area, please contact me. I am a beginner student wishing to learn to speak/write in Tagalog. I am frequently around people who speak the language, and would like to understand them, rather than ask them to translate for me. It is a beautiful sounding language. I am willing to dedicate time and effort to improve as much as possible. I know several words and phrases, but otherwise would be starting from the beginning.
