I am living and working in Helsinki, Finland, but am originally from Melbourne, Australia.
I have travelled quite extensively with my work; which is actually what landed me in Finland.
I am very interested in languages, in particular German, French, Japanese and Swedish.
I have a good knowledge in German, a basic knowledge in both French and Japanese and have never studied swedish; though am very keen on beginning.
N ormally I like to work with a teacher once a week as I have a pretty full on work schedule.
My weakest point is vocabulary, but when I study a language i like to combine all topics... e.g Grammar, Conversation, Vocab etc.

I am learning Finnish, as I moved to Finland from Australia and think it's important to know the language of the country you live. I hope to see study opportunities in the future.
My level, I would say is between beginner and intermediate. Have a good grasp on very basic level grammar.
I need to focus primarily on conversation. I find the grammar clear to understand and just need to practice more. I have very little opportunity to practice spoken language.
I am free for time. I will dedicated a large amount of time to learning Finnish.
As for qualities in my teacher... very easy going and patient. I prefer someone who is very particular about pronunciation and is willing to correct me. I don't want to be in the habit of speaking broken Finnish. Someone patient :)
