I am relocating to South Africa and would want to learn, atleast the basic structure of the Afrikans language as early as possible.
I have to be taught from the very beginning, which I have heard is 'a very good place to start'. :)
I would like to start with the conversationa l area, because more than writing or taking tests, I would want to be able to converse with the locals with ease.
I can dedicate almost four to six hours.
My teacher has to love to teach me to love Afrikans and pardon my complete ignorance at times.

Hello,
Myse lf and partner are ex pats from the UK. Most of our colleagues and friends are Afrikaans and living in the Pretoria area, we are often greeted/ approached in Afrikaans. Primarily we are looking for a tutor who can come at 7pm, once a week (mon-thurs, no preference)1- 2hour lessons, and focus on listening, speaking and pronunciation . Reading and writing can be developed later. Ideally we would like to learn colloquial Afrikaans with the correct syntax as opposed to formal language technique. We are beginners.
