I have been interested in Chinese culture and language (mandarin) for many years. I have also previously travelled to China and plan to visit again later this year. I am currently at beginner level but I am looking to advance this especially in conversation ability. My pinyin and writing of Chinese characters is at a good level but I'm sure could be improved. I would also like to reach the ability where I am able to read Chinese characters without the use of pinyin. Ideally I am looking at possibly 3 times a week after work in Leeds city centre. I'd like to find someone who is a native speaker who could help me advance levels, someone who would be able to meet me in Leeds city centre due to my work. Someone too who would be happy to help between lessons should I have any questions.

I am ethnically Chinese and Western educated. I used Mandarin as a child and now wish to improve my Mandarin for social and business reasons. I am at an intermediate level. So far, I have not had a teacher, but have relied instead on software, online resources, and movies. With ad hoc dictionary assistance, I can understand written and spoken Chinese quite well including the underlying grammar but cannot yet replicate the same standard when expressing myself in Chinese (orally and in writing). I want to dedicate as much time as is necessary to be fluent by March next year. I need a teacher whose English is of a very high standard.
