I have been learning Japanese for several years, but I need to consistently practice and learn. I can read Hiragana, Katakana, and about 200-300Kanji (depending on study).
I prefer to learn in a mixed English/Japan ese environment, so teacher must be able to speak English. I prefer to have sentence structure laid out and explained, then practice making different structures and advanncing from that. I beleive that instruction purely in Japanese is not helpful as I do not have the vocabulary to understand only Japanese instruction.
I have previously used 'Japanese for Busy People' and 'Minna no Nihongo' and prefer 'Japanese for Busy People'.
I am living in Tomioka, Gunma, and am williing to go to Takasaki for lessons as my gym is in Takasaki. I will be living here at least until the end of November. I would like to have lessons as often as twice a week on weekday evenings.
