Hello I'm a South African born Australian citizen and would like to practice Afrikaans conversation and reading and would like to learn from a radio presenter teacher. Grammar practice would also be useful. Regular weekly lessons of one hour, twice a week will suit me well. Thank you Marie

Hi Everyone!
I am adapting Doris Lessing's The Sweetest Dream into a play. There are two brief instances where characters say something in Afrikaans, and I was hoping someone could give me an authentic translation. Here are the two lines:
1. This is medicine (muti). Don't chew it, just swallow. Ok?
2. My grandfathers curse you: may your nose-hair grow in long braids. My grandmothers curse you: may your rooster crow profanity.
Obviously, the second one is...well I don't want people actually cursing each other. You know, just to be safe :). If you would like I will thank you in the final copy, (which I still need to get Doris Lessing's permission to print.) But assuming I get permission, your name or if you prefer just internet tag will be in there.
Tha nks so much!
