My mother and i would like to learn Swedish as my brother now lives in sweden with his swedish girlfriend and their two swedish children, we would like to learn the language so we can commuicate more efficiently when in Sweden, and also to be able to communicate with the children who will predominantly speak Swedish.

Hello,
I lived a year in Sweden and went to a high school. I can read, write and speak Swedish, but my small highschool doesn't provide Swedish as a language and will not give me credit for my language skills. I've looked at taking some univeristy college courses, but they're really expensive and I don't have that much money. I'm also a little worried that I know too much conversationa l langauge, as I never took a real Swedish class. I was wondering if you knew of any tests, or could give/make a proffincy test in Swedish. My grandma lives in Seattle, so I'd be willing to come over for a few classes and to take the test, but only if it would be approved by a Washington State HS.

I am Maltese and have a swedish boyfriend. I really want to learn this language as we will move to sweden eventually in the future. I have tried to learn something at home by cd's and books but it's difficult. I have tried to find someone here in Malta that teaches the language but it's difficult as well.
