Hello prospective teachers,
Th ank you for taking the time to review my ad. I recently married into a Vietnamese speaking family and am now wanting to learn the language. My husband speaks basic converational Vietnamese but is unable to read or write it. His family speaks South dialec Vietnamese. I would like to learn to speak fluent Vietnamese as well as read and write it. As of right now, I know a small amount of basic vocabulary ( mom, dad, numbers, some foods, etc.). I am looking to devote 2-3 hours per week on lessons and many more hours practicing at home. I am looking for a teacher that has taught beginners before.

Beginner beginner. I just got back from a vacation in Vietnam and would like to learn the language so that one day I might move there and have better chances of being hired. I need everything, conversationa l, grammer, everything. I think a one hour class once or twice a week would be enough... Then I would study and do 'homework' in between lessons. I would like my teacher to be a native speaker so that I can also learn cultural things while learning the language. I would like my lessons to take place in my home.

My level is somewhat low, mostly a beginner.
I want to learn this language because this is my home language, and it seems that I'm losing it as I speak more English. Also, I would really like to use this language in the future when I get more involved with other people like myself. It'll help me understand my family, and future families I wish to get to know as I grow up.
The areas I need help on are conversations and grammer, I really struggle on those and parents sometimes have a hard time understanding me.
I would like to dedicate the weekends to have my lessons. I would say 2-3 hours per day on Saturday and Sunday if possible.
In a teacher, I would say an easy going teacher that would give encouragement and that is not very strict. Just knowing the teacher enjoys what he/she does and really gives encouragement .
