Hi,
My name is Niki Fayaz, and I reside in the Netherlands, yet am currently in Toronto for a short while. I will be heading back to Holland soon for work (in a few weeks to be exact), however in the mean time I want to refocus my attention on learning Dutch. I am currently at the Pre-intermedi ate (B1) level in Dutch. However it had been some months since my last formal exposure to the language. I completed my Dutch language courses at the University of Amsterdam, and was taught by professors of Dutch. I have an academic background myself, in linguistics amongst other fields, and speak three other languages fluently. I realize that Dutch is not a simple language and because of my technical background I am quite easily able to pinpoint my areas of difficulty, and work on them myself. However if I can find a good teacher who offers classes at a reasonable fee,
I would rather utilize their expertise in helping to improve my Dutch.

I am learning for fun. I am a beginner, 'know' about 960 characters and about 1100 words. But that is reading or writing. I can not understand much, and my spoken manderin is really bad. So I would like conversation lessons, once a week. I would like to practice with the words I know and the new ones I am slowly learning. I don't want a class where I learn tons of new words each week, since I know I will not have the time to keep up with that. Also I am a visual learner, so teaching me conversation will be a challenge. (The 'repeat after me 300 times' method does not seem to work very well with me, so I will need a teacher willing and able to get creative)

I've always been fascinated by Japan and I've always wanted to learn Japanese and live there for a few years.
Alas, I have not yet been to Japan. I'm considering going alone, so I would like to learn formal conversationa l Japanese so I can manage being alone there without much help.
I want to improve my Japanese over time until I become fluent. At the moment I'm a university student in Amsterdam so I won't have much time but I do want to start preparing myself by starting to learn Japanese now.
I've never studied Japanese so I'm a beginner.
I'm looking for someone who can teach me real language in an efficient way and not only rehearse grammar rules.
