I'm a beginner in Polish (A1/A2), looking to get to a comfortable level of conversationa l Polish. Looking to spend 2-4 hours per week in lessons for now, perhaps more intensive in the new year. I'm an analytical learner so I find learning exact literal translation a lot easier than rote memorization. I remember things much better if I understand how and why they work.

I am learning Polish because I work with a team of software developers located in Krakow. I am a beginner and know only a few of the words. I have just picked up 'Colloquial Polish the Complete Course for Beginners' and I will be using this and talking with a non-work friend in Krakow by Skype each day to practice pronunciation .
All that said, I have never taught myself a language before and I wish to learn Polish on an accelerated timeline which means I am interested in in-person lessons from a teacher located in New York City.

I am getting married next year, to a polish girl! I would like to be able to converse with her parents as they don't speak English. Also i would like to make a short speech on polish at the wedding. Aside from that, i am interested in learning more about polish culture etc so as our children will be knowledgeable about Poland.
