Hello,
I am an American living in Canada who has taken a great interest in learning Urdu. Since Toronto is a very culturally diverse city, I know many people who speak Urdu and I wish to learn as much as I can. It is also helpful for translation assistance as well. I have been self-teaching myself through books for about a year and would love structured lessons and conversationa l help. I can read and write the script already. I have learned the nashk style script, but can change easily without any problems. I listen to Hindi music and have learned a great deal from that as well as watching Indian movies and any Urdu or Hindi language television that I can. I hope someone will respond with helpful information for me and plans on getting started quickly.

I can speak urdu but I cannot write or read it. I want to learn it to help me communicate better and to help with my career. I need help in grammar and writing more than anything else but also would like to improve my speaking ability. I cannot write or read it at all.
