I am a complete beginner in Mandarin, and my reason for wanting to learn is my interest in Chinese culture and history. Additionally it has always been a goal of mine to learn another language proficiently, and Mandarin appealed to me in that respect.
I would like to learn some Cantonese at some point too, but one step at a time.
I would like to have one or two lessons a week of around a couple of hours, or what the teacher recommends.
Qualities I would like in a teacher are that they are friendly and patient, quick to correct my errors and proficien. They should expect me to to friendly and attentive also.

I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese. I have no experience with it however I am a foreign language major in college and I can't seem to find a school in Florida that will allow me to major in Chinese. Languages are a passion of mine and for that reason I think learning them comes easy to me. I'm willing to dedicate as much time as it takes to learn mandarin as well as possibly one or two other languages that you offer. I'm looking for a serious teacher who is as passionate about languages as I am.
