i need to learn basic chinese. i plan to leave for china in about 3 months. im going there to study kung fu. from what ive read, the more rural, the less they speak english. i plan to dedicate as much time as needed to learn enough chinese to survive while i am there. i need someone who is patient and hopefully has lived in china. help is greatly appreciated. please contact at your earliest convenience. I speak Mandarin and Cantonese at an intermediate level. However I only read and write basic Chinese. I would like to learn to read and write more Chinese characters, understand more about Chinese literature, proverbs, history, and culture. Ultimately I aim to be able to read the newspaper. I would like the lessons in Mandarin. As for Cantonese I wish to perfect my pronunciation to a Standard Cantonese level.
I wish to have one lesson a week (1-1.5 hrs).
As an instructor myself, I seek a teacher who is knowledgeable , passionate, and with a gift for teaching. I work in the performing arts industry (as well as in the fitness industry), being so, a language teacher with a performing arts background would be much welcomed.
