Hello!
I am looking for a tutor that would be able to peform in person, lessons for tagalog. My husband and I are here and are native English speakers (but I already understand most of tagalog and speak broken taglish). We want to learn so when we have children we can teach them tagalog. We would like to have lessons as much as 5 times per week. We want our tutor to fully explain grammatically correct tagalog and relate it to how English is spoken. We want a tutor for 2-3 months. I came from the Philippines as a young boy and my family did not pass down the language. I do understand quite a bit, but am not comfortable with speaking.
I would like my family to learn Tagalog together. My wife and children know nothing of the language, but are very interested in learning. Initially we are only interested in conversation and then progressing to fluency and the ability to read and write properly.
We are looking for a teacher than can come to our home in Mission Viejo (Orange County) or somewhere close by. We want to learn as a family and have 3 children 5 years old and under, so the ability to teach multiple levels is useful.
We are willing to make Tagalog a part of our everyday life if we can have the guidance.

My interest is getting my boyfriend who is Filipino American tutoring classes. His parents and grandmother spoke Tagalog when he was growing up, and as I understand it-he is quite proficient in conversation. My estimation is he would be a high intermediate or advanced student :) He wants to improve his Tagalog to embrace his culture better, and to converse with his family more adeptly. I think he could dedicate two hours a week to classes but out of class study/homewor k time could vary for his schedule. I am looking for a teacher who will personalize their program for his specific case, be flexible with his schedule and challenge him.
