My wife's family's first language is Hindi (Fijian), and I would like to be able to better understand and communicate with them. I have practically zero understanding of Hindi, although I have been exposed to it for over two years now. I would like to spend at least one hour per week learning, but I am open to a longer session, as well. I will also set aside the requisite time to complete homework, etc. I would like to learn from someone who understands English well, especially an American accent. It would be optimal to work with someone who has an understanding of Fijian Hindi, as my wife's family is from Fiji and I've learned that there can be quite a difference between Indian Hindi and Fijian Hindi.

My husband and and I are looking to go over to Thailand at the beginning of 2015 to do some voluntary work for 3-5 years. We are both beginners. We would like to have lessons once a week or fortnight in person, spending 3 hours a week on home work, however we are open to the optimal time needed and way to learn the thai language. We would like our lessons to be fun and interactive, with a teacher who is patient and engaging. For the right person we would commit for the year of 2014.
