I need a basic grounding in conversationa l Russian; I have one week available in person, right now, and am prepared to continue via internat after initial assesment. I am an absolute beginner,and have just developed a keen interst in the language. No doubt it will also help in my career advancment, but this is not a primay consideration . I just moved to Kiev to take a teaching job, and I really want to learn Russian so that I can be a better teacher. I also want to be able to get to know locals and communicate with everyday people like cashiers, salespeople, etc. I know maybe twenty words of Russian but no grammar foundation at all (I am a complete beginner). I have studied German and Spanish and catch on to languages very quickly, but I am willing to spend up to 30 hours per week working on Russian. I would like my Russian teacher to be dedicated and focused when we are 'in class', be willing to answer all my questions and correct every single mistake I make. My goal is to become fluent and I'm very serious about it.
