Hello. I would like to learn basic & intermediate conversationa l Spanish. Learning this language would be very helpful when I deal with our Spanish speaking customers from Mexico and some parts of South America. I can dedicate one hour to one and a half hour every weekday and two hours every weekend. I would like my tutor to be structured in his/her approach, and he/she should have supplementary materials to help me learn Spanish faster.

My proficiency level in Spanish is intermediate. I want to enhance my ability to speak, read and write Spanish for personal growth, since my wife and I will be traveling a great deal to Hispanic countries. I want to concentrate especially on conversation. I have completed both of the beginning conversationa l Spanish classes offered at UNLV, enrolled in the graduate program at UNLV and just last Friday completed Spanish 213, which is UNLV's first of two intermediate Spanish classes. I've been introduced to present and imperfect subjunctive, as well as present indicative, preterite, imperfect, perfect, future and conditional. I feel my comprehension is coming along nicely but these have been classes of up to 20 people so it has been difficult to practice conversation.
I would like to be in a class of 3 to 5 people and would like to have 8 to 10 hours of instruction a week in person and I'm willing to put in an additional 2 or 3 hours a day outside the class. I am very flexible on time as I am retired, but I would like to start soon as I do have trip coming up in August.

I would say that my Spanish proficiency level is beginner. I have taken many Spanish classes through highschool and beginner Spanish courses at the University level. However, my retention has always been questionable and my conversation level has been poor. My main problems with learning Spanish is forming sentences and verbalizing. I am able to understand Spanish when spoken to me at a higher level than I am able to form sentences myself. My goal is to become fluent or atleast very functional with Spanish. My time frame is 2 - 6 hours a week. I am looking for an instructor who will focus on speaking and less with workbook or textbook teaching because these methods have proved less than effective for my learning style in the past.
