Course: Basic Mandarin conversation/ speaking
Pe riod: 16-18Oct06 (Mon-Wed), 26-28Oct06 (Thurs-Sat),3 0Oct-2Nov06 (Mon-Thurs) (total 10 days)
Dura tion: 2.5-3 hours (total 25-30 hours)
Timing: Preferably in the late morning or early afternoon.
Location: Kim Tian Rd (Bukit Merah) or anywhere that is appropriate/c ondusive
Ra tes: looking at paying $25-$30 per hour

After graduating from a regular university in computer science & visual arts, I worked for serveral years but have always felt inspired & challenged when meeting a person that I cannot communicate & connect with. So I am taking the time to learn Chinese. I love the culture, the food, & the people which are a good example in many ways of friendliness, health, & generosity.
I am currently in Yangshuo but am being told that Chengdu would be a better place to study. I am planning to head to Chengdu after some basic instruction here in Yangshuo, which should be by the 23rd of this month (October) if not sooner. It would be great to connect with someone who knows the area & the language.
I studied Mandarin for a year in the US which feels like nothing now that I am here since I can't seem to understand many people. A flexible teacher that can incorporate easy music (to sing along with or simply listen to & understand) would be ideal since repetition seems to be the key with me. since I seem to learn by seeing & experience/us e best.
I'm probably writing too much. It's usually best to meet & see..
