I'd like to learn Mandarin as I'm looking to broaden my horizons - I think learning a language would help to aid that. I've lived in China before and am interested in seeding more solid roots within the country, talking more with the locals and also learning more about China's history and culture. I have some very basic Chinese knowledge but it's not very structured - I would rate it something akin to survival Chinese with some fundamental flaws. I am mostly indulging in self study and would like to improve in all aspects of Chinese, but as there are not many opportunities to practice my Mandarin vocally, that's an aspect I'd like to focus on.
I'm dedicating 1 to 2 hours a day working through a textbook and would ideally like a session a week just to consolidate what I've learned and also to go through some conversation and grammar points. I'm looking for a friendly teacher that doesn't mind being interrupted to be able to clarify on certain points. I'm quite easy going and also like that from a teacher - not that I don't take my work seriously.
