Hello--
I am a total beginer. I am looking to learn a Foreign Language, because I am also preparing to go to school for International Relations/ International Business Management. I figured If I am going to work with International Business, then Mandarin would be the best language to start with. I could dedicate a couple hours a night, a couple of nights per week. As I work full time and am preparing for school as I have mentioned. A Foreign Language is most important to my current goals, I look forward to working with a patient teacher, as I seem to be at a loss with language. Even my own at times.

I lived in Taiwan for 8 months and then I came back to Victoria and took one year of Mandarin at Camosun. I have basically forgotten all of it and know it wouldn't take much to refresh, but I would like to refresh and then try this time to maintain it better.

I have no experience in Mandarin, but I'm very interested in learning which is why I'm looking in this site.
I'm from Mexico and I'm studying my M.S in Food Safety and Technology. My interest in Mandarin is basically because I believe that the Food Industry is continuosly trying to make a break in different markets and Chine is definetly one of the most promising ones. When I go into the market I believe that knowing the language gives me an advantage when looking fot the right job. Besides I've always enjoyed learning new languages. I'm an engineer and I'm fluent in Spanish, English and intermediate level in French.

Beginner wishing to focus on grammar, comnversation and written Chinese Mandarin language and also learn cultural traditions. Reason for learning is to hopefully advance my career prospects within a year in getting ahead of others in work by attaining a good all round knowledge of language and culture.
Loo king to study 2hrs per week, this can be split to 2 x 1hr sessions, evening or weekend, live, with tutor and be assigned homework i.e practise written work on my own. Happy to study along with other students who are at the same proficiency level.
Teach er to be committed to my learning with a structured learning programme, to be well mannered and have patience.
