I'm a beginner learning Arabic. I do know a few words, but really haven't gone beyond that. I speak Spanish and Japanese, and do work in Japanese translation. I'm quite interested in the languages of the Middle East, as well as the history and various cultures. At this point I'm particulary interested in spoken Egyptian Arabic and Moroccan Arabic. I would like to learn how to read, write and speak Arabic. I have several text books on the subject. I could meet one to two times a week, depending on schedule and cost. I would like to the teacher to be open, respectful and fun.

I studied Egyptian Arabic for one semester in college but have since forgotten most of it, so I would consider myself a beginner. My father is Egyptian and I have always wanted to learn the language, which is why I wish to study it now. I am currently a graduate student at Northwestern University and have a lot of time to devote to studying the language. I would prefer to have a mix of in-person meetings with some reinforcement over email (assignments, etc.). I have a car so can travel in the Chicago area.

My proficiency level is beginner. I wamt to learn foreign language to have more career opportunities . I need particular improvement in all areas since I'm a beginner. I would like to take language classes every Saturday for about a year. I would like the teacher to be patient and willing to teach someone that needs a lot of help.

In French I am at the Intermediate level. Swahili was my native language but I have forgotten most of it--so I would have to say I am a beginner. In Arabic I am also a beginner. I want to learn all of these language for my career in International Relations. If I find a serious teacher I am interested to dedicating a lot of time into accomplishing my goals. I want to learn excellent oral and written usuage of oall of the above languages.
