I have studied French at the university level for 3 years. 4 years ago I spent a semester in France and was confidently conversationa l by the time I left, but have not had the opportunity to practice for the past year and a half. I have taken 1 year of Egyptian Arabic, but my primary focus at this time is to gain fluency in French, particularly on the topics of politics, economics, and law (the subjects I study at the university) through grammar study and conversation practice. I would like to begin classes at the beginning of February and conclude them at the end of April, perhaps 8 hours a week depending on cost.

I am looking for an Arabic tutor to give me individual tuition. I am female and would prefer a female tutor who is fluent in Arabic and English. I have very basic Arabic from a short course that I did. I want to mostly work on my speaking skills, but I would also like to spend some time learning to read and write. I feel that I pick up the speaking quickly, but I have a lot of difficulty grasping the reading and writing. I feel that I need individual tuition to really improve my Arabic. I have Arabic background, but was not taught the language by my family. I want to learn as I will be travelling to Egypt soon, it would be useful in current career. I would like to have at least one lesson a week and I am willing to negotiate venue, time, and willing to pay a reasonable fee.

To Whom It May Concern;
M y family and I may be spending the summer of 2005 in the Alexandria, Egypt area. Specifically, we expect to live in Agami.
We are functional (intermediate level)in Jordanian Arabic but want to focus on Egyptian Arabic. We are interested in 1 - 2 hour lessons 4 days a week for three months. My wife and I are at the same level but we also want someone to tutor our children (12, 10, 6) who are not as advanced.
I have a doctorate in theology and my wife is an accountant. We are looking for a relaxed atmosphere for conversationa l learning.
