I have been teaching myself Gaeilge with the help of tapes, books and online resources. I can hold a polite conversation, but have no one to practice anything more in depth with. Because no one in the area knows the language, it is difficult for me to maintain a grasp on what I have and take steps forward. I am dedicated to my personal study time and can practice on my own if I were able to count on at least a few hours a week of study with a class or tutor.

My husband and I have adopted three boys from Estonia with the most recent being 7 years of age. He is fluent in his language and I would like to keep it that way. I want all my boys to know their heritage and language and be able to share that with people when they get older. I can talk to them in short sentences but am unable to communicate more than a simple thought. I would love to get deeper into the language and pass it on to my boys.

I am a beginner, I have tried to teach myself Czech, but I feel it would be much easier with some guidance from someone who speaks Czech. I have several friends form the Czech Republic in my hometown of Denver, Colorado. I have learned a lot about the culture in Czech lifestyles. I am moving to the Czech Republic to be with my future wife, and she speaks very good english. She had to return to the Czech Republic to finish college and I would like to suprise her with some knowledge of her language before she returns. I am going to spend the rest of my life with her in the Czech Republic, so I think now is the perfect time to start learning the language. I work 5 days a week, Saturday through Wednesday, 8a.m. to 4 p.m. and I am willing to spend any free time learning Czech.
