Description |
I am a beginner student. I do have some rudimentary knowledge of Spanish. My Italian pronunciation skills are excellent. My goal is to be as conversant as possible for a trip to Italy I'm planning either later this year or in 2009. I am willing to devote as much time as necessary to learning. However, it is also important that after the lessons I can find somehow to use my new language skills.

Description |
Dear Instructor(s) ,
I have been attempting to learn the Thai language for almost a year now via books and cassette tapes written by Benjawan Poomsan Becker. The books are very good and my vocabulary has grown quite a bit over the past year. For myself however, the most difficult parts of learning Thai are the five different tones and sentence structure. These have proven difficult to learn through the books and tapes, mainly because I cannot ask questions to anyone to ask if I am doing something right or wrong. I travel to Thailand a few times a year and I think Thai is a beautiful language. I would very much like to become fluent in Thai so that I can fit into the culture a bit better when I travel to Thailand.
Face to face learning is certainly my preference because I learn much more quickly that way. Unfortunately , after looking for quite a while, I have been able to find any individual Thai instructors nor universities in central Ohio that teach the language. Any help in finding a qualified instructor in my area would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Thane
